I bought an ESEE 4 last Monday, and liked it a lot. I wanted something a bit smaller for EDC, and was drawn to the Izula. I really didn't care for the bare metal wrapped with 500 cord, so decided on an Izula II.

I picked the one in Amazon with a Coyote Brown handle to match the ESEE 4. I got it today, and all seemed well. It seemed the right size, and the handle didn't poke me in the ribs.

For some reason, I decided to measure it, and it was 6.25" instead of 6.75". I had been holding it with my finger in the choil, and never noticed it was 1/2" short. I looked closer at the right side, and it read "IZULA" instead of "IZULA II". I knew then that I got a Izula instead of Izula II. It was my fault, as the order I placed said "Izula". The one I ordered was the only one with a black blade and coyote handle, so I decided to keep it. I also realized that if I changed it for a longer handle, it might poke my "spare tire. My mistake may have resulted in a better choice.

I looked at a IZULA II, and realized there were other tell tales, like the SN on the blade instead of the metal handle. And the lanyard hole was much larger than on mine. It was all a bit confusing, but is much clearer now. :D :D

Hhmmm, I'm already starting to wonder what an ESEE 3, or 5, would be like.

They are all the same. They are gateway drugs, I mean knives, that lead to more and more.

Izula is a great knife. Izzy 2 is the epitome of great knives.

I'll post a picture of them side by side as soon as I can remember what I did with my Izula folder. I think I lent it to someone here. :pJust can't remember who?:D

Don't do it John! If you do, you'll be like the rest of us...forever doomed to buy/sell/trade knives trying to get your "fix" of the perfect Esee's! It's the drug that never lets you go!! :D

I bought this from an Indian in Panama 40 years ago. It's not as nice as a Junglas, but it does chop some jungle.

Actually; I think I need a ESEE 3 before a Junglas. To add to my ESEE 4 and Izula.

Constantly use my II and 4! When occasionally EDCing my forgotten 3, always wish I'd grabbed the Izzy or 4. Probably gonna dump my compromise 3, skip the 6, get a good hatchet.
