I did a post about my Laser Strike a few days ago on Social Media... Still a favorite for sure.. I’m often asked to what my favorite knife is. It’s a hard question and it involves not only design, features, and ergonomics, but also MEMORIES. I recently loaned my prized Laser Strike to my buddy @just_a_mountain_dude_ and he sent me these shots taken by his wife @appalachian_mountains_girl. It brought back a flood of memories using this knife during my Dec ‘15 Field Survival Class (almost 2 years before coming on staff). It was a typical Field Survival class with epic weather with the high for the weekend being 28* and a low of 18*, no sleep, no food. It sounds miserable, but it was awesome; and, in some ways lead me to my position here at ESEE Knives. So what you are seeing is a Laser strike with a sheath I designed and had a guy build. (Don’t ask for the maker as he later stole two blades from me and disappeared-I’m still a little sore about that). The knife was stripped and I had it coated with NiB (Nickel Boron-like an AR BCG). I cut grooves in the handle with a Dremel....just because. I spent hours convexing the edge and put a notebook cover red liner in it. This one is still special to me bc it’s #myesee and #eseestory e. If you get time. Share your #eseestory with us! #esee #eseeknives #randallsadventureandtraining
Wish I had seen you were looking for some, I’d have sold you my black w/orange liner set cheaper than TKC so I can order a midnight tiger set. I’ve learned having extra knife scales around is like having extra AR parts around, eventually they turn into another knife.
Gorgeous laserstrike @shaneadams90 !!! I really like how that NiB coating looks and your sheath design looks well thought out.
Thank you! I won't claim I did all that with the LS because I didn't. The weather was finally decent enough (no gusty wind) to allow me to burn a huge amount of old scrap wood from remodeling projects last summer.
Sanded the blade coating off, squared the spine, soaked it all day yesterday in white vinegar while I was in the field and got the edge perfect this morning. Just waiting on the new scales to get delivered today.
