This year’s hunting combo. Big knives, and big optics. Though I’m probably gonna copy Marsh’s thermacell setup lol
Nice rifle! A close friend of mine just got that model in 308. My Junglas is typically with me during deer season as well, as often as I’ve blood trailed into briar thickets it’s been indispensable. I’ve probably got another wader belt sitting around somewhere so let me know if you want one.
Now I desperately want a big Junglas, it is officially in my knife list for next year, along with the 6HM
That’s exactly how it is lol. Thought it’d be ridiculous then used @Emac ’s and ordered mine the following week.
I'm more for a 1/4" thick regular one or J2, due to the woods we have, but the regular thickness and grind seem to be pretty indestructible so far
I ended up with a Junglas just to spite a stupid rule. When I hired on to the federal DOT in 2013 they told me I couldn't have a knife with over 2 7/8 inch blade. I carried a Gerber Covert but rarely ever saw a fellow employee so rolled with it til I went out east where they all work and was warned some are serious about the rules and I looked big and scary Lol! So the Izula was found, it was NOT what they were thinking of for a knife inside their rules, I offered its use at every opportunity. So next I ask about something a little more substantial in the vehicle, the Blue Ridge isn't exactly remote but I didn't think it was out of line to want a decent survival knife with me BUT, it's the government, absolutely not allowed on me or in my govt. vehicle. Now I find out the Junglas is classified as a small machete, I don't know how or why that came about but that big old blade hanging from the seat got attention from the young ones just out of college, with a standard answer of "It's not a knife"
Decided to add the unused pouch from my Leatherman Wave+ to the molle backer and put a Leatherman Kick in to add a little more versatility to the kit.
The current look, Beachin Tactical/Preppers Bunker Outdoors custom made me a Baldric out of orange reflective survivor cord I sent him, don't look for him to volunteer that service, sounded like it doesn't weave like the standard cord, wife gave me the orange scales and molle back for Christmas one year, by the end it looked like DOT issue Lol! Shame it just hangs around these days but I'm sure one of those grandkids will remedy that soon.
Bro, I could’ve loaned you a miter saw. Lol, just kidding. Only with an Junglas can someone say I was cutting dimensional lumber with a knife and it be ok. Nice blade!
Lol thanks! We were rebuilding a boardwalk for work in Lake Barré and the guys I work with didn’t bring enough batteries for the sawsall, so Junglas to the rescue.
Man I actually think embarrassment has missed that generation, they all go immediately to try’n to blame someone else. They eventually started talking about making the 45 minute airboat ride then hour drive to the office to get more batteries then the same times back to the marsh on the edge of the open Gulf to cutting 4 2x4 and screw down 4 2x12 boards. That’s when I took my Junglas out and said I’ll take care of that and introduced them to how to use a hammer and nails.
Hahaha! Yeah, people today wouldn't know how to use hammer and nails either. If the end of the world a we know it came tomorrow most of them would be out of luck for survival.
