Thanks! With where I live I've found this setup makes it more versatile for me. I can wear it outside chest-waders or with gym shorts if I'm woodsbumming during our unbearably hot and humid summers. I originally picked up the pouch to use with an Esee 5, but it felt like it morphed into a brick setup that way.
Thats exactly what i like doing! In pt shorts or silkies/ ranger panties. The esee 5 could be described as brickish anyways eh? Lol
I did a video updating the Mods on my Junglas II. Basically, square spine, stripped blade, left the finish under the scales and on the handle spine, and some sheath work. Im a happy camper!
I def think that the Junglas 2 is going to be in my future with all the other ESEE knives coming out I’m not really seeing anything that I HaVE to have but the Junglas 2 still is calling my name. @Jacob Peterson I def like the modifications you have done and would probbably go done a almost similiar road. I am 50/50 also on wether I would go for the TKC scales also. @Jacob Peterson on a random side note! Is that a “Death Dealer” tattoo on your forearm?
@RocketmanDane haha it was supposed to be similar, but its a 4th horseman that got bastardized by the artist lol. I wanted to keep the knife Esee, and I am short on cash, but otherwise I would have def gone TKC, they are really really nice. But if you want orange and your on a budget, the Esee ones have a really nice texture and are worth every penny!
Some #beateresee pics. I might start doing more btac stuff with orange thread... even just for myself lol The struggle.
I got my Junglas II early this week and just got to take it out for the first time to test it this afternoon... what a beautiful beast! Watching Jacobs video about breaking one just made me more happy with my purchase! I spent about 3 hours doing camp tasks, making fire stuff, beginning to build a shelter, etc and it ate through it all and stayed sharp. This also fits perfectly in the side pouch of my Vanquest backpack like it was made for it, and also works amazing attached to the molle of the backpacks waist strap. That was a happy surprise discovery because my Trident 31 is my go to hiking backpack. This is a lifetime purchase, I'm so over the moon for mine I'm going to have to do something to customize it...
Heck yeah man!!!!! My mods have been very simple, stripping the finish, squaring the spine, and some scales, but they are the icing on the cake for me. That and the sheath mods
#notabeateresee lolol I must say, the orange scales look fantastic with the stock powder coat. I am still dreaming of the factory J2 option with black oxide finish, square spine, and orange scales. And the fantasy for me is the venom green powder coat. That might be the most unrealistic dream of them all.... but I am gonna hold on to it anyways. LOL!
Fde is the coolest, no doubt. Im just to irresponsible to trust myself with it, it works too well at its intended purpose ;-)
I got my scales straight from Esee, those orange G10 scales are actually a standard item that they sell.
Orange isn't my thing, and I do like the default grey canvas micarta, but it'd be nice to have something different... Something like this would be right in my wheelhouse.
Yup, just followed the white rabbit down that hole... they have a ton of G10 options. I'm in trouble now.
Think of it at the marrying of tool and man. The precision interaction for future greatness of use. Sounds good right?
Whatever I have to tell myself to justify spending the dough, but yeah, it's a lifetime purchase and making it "mine" is essential...
