This is the wall of the eye of Florence. It's amazing that the plane can even get off the ground with that much brass in it.

That looks like the wing of a NOAA bird. I think they fly basically a Navy P3. I’m not sure how the view from those planes are But I know the view from the cockpit of the C130J the AF flys must be epic!

Richmond loses power for days if the wind blows lightly. Not sure what the deal is with them. It wasn't like that when I lived there from 1998-2001 but lately all our friends seem to always be without power.

We are expecting a few inches of rain and some wind but other than that traffic will be the worst we get as all the evacuees come to or through Athens/Atlanta area.

Weather Channel just reported the Waffle House closed its doors in Moorehead City, NC. Now that is a sign of a bad storm.

My pet hate is when news are reporting on severe weather events is them actually going outside in it to do so. I have been know to yell at the TV. Why stand in a f'ing howling wind and try and talk...it is dumb, stupid and has the potential for diverting emergency services from people who are in trouble that did not result from them being dumb and stupid. Idiots....

I hope any of the folks from here who are on the East Coast are doing as well as can be expected.

Anybody see the photos of the canopy ripped off the gas station? That’s in my dad’s town. I buy ice and fuel from them every time I’m down there. Crazy stuff.

This is just ridiculous....and the weather channels response

“It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted,”

You know the media is messed up when you cant even trust THE WEATHER CHANNEL to report news honestly

They only use bad storms as a tool to gain ratings and subsequently, advertising money.
