It’s here! Very excited to start carving with this bad boy! Don’t know why it took me so long to purchase this awesome blade!

the RB-3 is one of my favorite Bushcraft knives, and I don't say that lightly.

They keep me busy, but have been a huge incentive to stay fit and active with them. Unlike a lot our age the just embrace the “dad-bod”.

I resemble that remark... trying to change for the better! Also, almost 46 with a 10 month old!

You win bro! Congrats on the the 10 month old. I had gained a bunch while my wife was expecting our two year old daughter, took a lot of work to drop from 268 to 220. Now I’ve gained 22lbs in lean mass. My wife and I thought we had it rough having the new boy in October and both turning 40 in January. Wouldn’t change a thing except maybe beg for more sleep. We’ve been married for almost 14 years and thought we couldn’t have any kids then had our daughter two years ago, then really got a shock when we found out she was expecting the 4 month old.

    Sorry for the derailment @Strigidae

I'm back to working this stubborn old piece of wood (walnut???) into a kuksa. This little RB3 has been a handy little blade. I'm on safety leave from work for the coronavirus outbreak. Wishing you all good health and counting all of the little things as blessings today.

I've only had the RB3 a week and it's already becoming a favorite. It glided through this fire prep. I need to get some shots of a spoon I carved with it as well.

My RB3 showed up today. Thanks @Tyler for the hookup on that.

I've not used it for anything yet but I already love the feel of it and I like that it's not coated which has been my big issue with my 4CP.

I'm hoping to get to play with it some this weekend though. I'll probably try to take a little walk with it and a hatchet to try to score some fat wood to experiment with.

I think I have most of the Esse Knives. I was issued the other brand 3 in Iraq. I have a newer one that will break a window that I have carried a lot, used mostly for cutting up Mangos in West Africa. I have always carried it with me in the other places I have worked in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
I love a Scandinavian grind and have the pictured knife with me on hikes and around the house. I have a collection of Gransfors axes but think batoning is safer if you have been drinking. I love the 6 for that purpose. I have a 5 that is lost, likely somewhere in a forgotten pack. I have the hunting versions of the 3 and 6. As well as that large machete looking thing.
It is 7 AM I am eating the last of the bacon in the house, with champagne, and reminiscing. So my answer is the Esse 3 is my favorite. CCA59F03-4EC0-40A1-BC9D-3A0EC1AA3E0B.jpeg
