Thanks Rick! Have the handle assembled here, and guard is rough shaped. Still have to fine tune the guard a bit and smooth it out. Then the blade gets pinned.

OK next step, the buttcap is ready. On this one, decided to go ahead and put the compass in the buttcap, as opposed to the ferro rod attachments and everything else. Not normally a big fan of a compass in the buttcap, for a number of reasons. But for this particular knife, it makes the most sense so that is where we're going to go right now. We'll see how things progress.

As a side note, I milled the recess for the compass a little larger than it needs to be. This is so that the end user may change the compass out and have a little wiggle room for size if they so choose, and/or if they have a favorite button compass they like to use.

OK, here are the initial in-hand shots of the B.U.S.H. Knife prototype (Bushcraft Utility Survival Hollow Handle). I will have pics of the sheath and firesteel soon.
Let me know what you think.

It is just under 3" deep, around 7/8" ID.

Thought I'd post this, since the thread hasn't been bumped in awhile. This is a prototype/test knife I did.

After the abuse and beatings heaped on this and the SAFE knife during testing, I no longer believe it's necessary to try and convince any detractors of HH knives. For those that aren't interested, no problem. There is a wonderful variety of knives available for purchase, which I truly think is great. Any knife can and will fail, given enough punishment.

But these knives have proven themselves beyond a doubt to me and those testing them. Very satisfied.

Completed the ferro rod for the prototype B.U.S.H. knife. I will have more photos later. Had some fun with this one. I will probably add this ferro rod design to the BLASR 1 lineup also, assuming there's enough interest.
