Pics later when I'm home. Surprised I have cell service up here in the woods.

Anyways, quick and dirty get out of the house and go play outside day trip today.....to Hobo Camp #1

About a 45 minute drive from base camp (home) up the sea to sky hwy and then a half hour bushwack to Hobo Camp #1.

At the trailhead parking lot.......look how freaking skinny I am ......no more 35-40 lbs of stress weight and fat face .......

Sigh, garbage....lots , right off the bat. ...

    Grow op ****.

    Made a quick and dirty spear.......with my Surv-Tac 7

Recreating Rambo hunting the pig.........except there was no piggy fir me......:(
    [IMG]

    The "trail"
    [IMG][IMG]

    Finally entering the forest.....

Been at least two years since I was last here

Pile of cedar splits and fatwood still untouched

    The gear......kifaru E&E 1st gen,Tops Surv-Tac7, magnum can of bear spray.

The small blades, Esee Avispa, and the one and only ArguableLobster "Pingo Lobster Claw" knife.

Also had my HPG (HILL PEOPLE GEAR) chest rig (thanks Reno Lewis!).....here I am pulling out the fire kit.......

Hmm what to use? Well since this is not a survival situ.....no sense wasting the emergency fire kit.....so 5cent book of matches works fine....

The brutal sharp wedge point of the Surv-Tac7 splits fatwood with ease.

One match fire, and water set to boil in the MSR Ti Titan Kettle.

ST7 sawback notching an alder branch for easy effortless snapping.

Puttered about HC#1 all afternoon, had noodles with my veggie broth "tea" . Plan to come back with the Spetznaz shovel to dig out, flatten and level out the ground, then roll some big boulders into place to form a wall, to reflect heat from the fire pit. In the future I might add a log lean to and cover it with earth, forming a semi open but dry shelter.

Good day to get out today. Next trip there will be a reflector oven and some smokies! :p

There is actually a second sister "Pingo Lobster Claw", which was supposed to be yours. The handle and blade are a little wider. I used a diffrent handle scale that was very figured but had a questionable grain orientation. Part of the scales popped off in the vice and you got the other one.

It's somewhere. Havn't put new scales on it yet.

Hobo camps are the best. RB's setup on the old forum was the Hobo Hall of Fame.

Good stuff! Very scenic area. Too bad asshats have to trash places like that instead of packing their garbage out...
