Last time i saw one of those it was some soft boring wood with some thick brown coloring on it. They must have upped their game the past few years.
Wow, those are nice, that bluing looks so nice! I was just looking at one earlier this week. Something very satisfying about a break action sound... and no chasing brass if you reload ha ha ha!
They are flat out shooters too. I’ve had the 20 gauge for a few years now, I’m anxious to get the 243 broken in when deer season gets here.
I’ll definitely keep that in mind if/when I get the urge for a second single shot for our former muzzleloader now primitive rifle deer season. I got a 45/70 handirifle the year before they changed the regs to include cartridges .35” and larger, which caused 35 Whelen to become ultra popular here and in Ms.
While looking on Henry's web site I notice they have a recall notice on some of these single shot rifles and shotguns. I do like the idea of one in 45-70.
Recently swapped the A2 stock/buffer system out for the A5 length tube/H3 buffer and ACS stock on my 308 hog rig
I’ve put together many AR’s but never tried the A5 buffer system. I’ve pretty much settled for Geissele Super 42 springs in my A1 stocks and Sprinco intermediate (red/white) springs in my carbines. Though I do have a spare White Oak 20” upper and a stripped LMT lower. I may visit the A5 system if I decide to do something with it. Here is my daughter shooting one of her rifles a few years back. I’ve never tried it on a 5.56 sized AR. On the 308 AR’s it allows you to use an AR15 H3 buffer instead of those little 2.5” shorty buffers. So you get the same weight as the 308 A1/2 buffer. Is that the Lafourche range or TPSO?Been a minute since I’ve gone to either.
I use the A5 tube and buffers for 6.5 Grendel builds, should be great for most of those stouter calibers. That A5 size tube, Armalite EA1095 spring, and a standard H3 buffer is the magic sauce for the large platform AR's with carbine stocks for sure. I haven't used the A5 system for 5.56 just for cost reasons mostly, Vltor buffers are pricy compared to the standard tungsten replacement weights.
LPSO. I’ve been a member at Palo Alto for a couple years now and mainly shoot their now, or our property in Mississippi.
I need to go checkout LPSO again. TPSO Just looks sketchy with all the bullet holes in the canopies and sheeit. They’ve definitely started wilding out since my days competing with jr deputies.
I’ve been fighting the urge to build a 6.5 Grendel. That’s good to know. Two of my relatives I hunt with have them and they do some pretty impressive damage.
