It was definitely a good find in this condition.

Interesting thing occurred this morning, my Wife looked at my Boker Camp knife I'm carrying today and said "WOW, that one's really pretty!". Now the only thing she has ever said about any knife I carry is:

    • "Can I borrow your knife?"
    • "How much did that one cost?" as she gives me the look
    • "You bought another knife, why do you NEED more knives?" Again with the look we all know well
    • "Do you know how much money you've spent on knives lately?" Also asked with the "if looks could kill" look
I just found it humorous of all the knives I own she likes that one. She did request I buy her a Case Stag Eisenhower pen knife about a dozen years ago, she liked that one too LOL. She still carries it when she can find it.

Gary have you ever looked at Steel Flame clips they make for hinderer knives. Very nice looking and extremely well made.

@jlowrance I have seen and really like them but for the money they cost I'd just rather spend it somewhere else I guess is bottom line like toward another knife. Look great but most are really expensive to me.

I know what you mean, I acquired most of mine through lottos or very generous discounts. Anymore my pieces have become just as important as the knives.

How do you like those new covers? Since I carry my Field Notes in my left front pocket, the die-cut cover didn't make too much sense for me. With a cover like you have, it's a whole different ballgame though.

I did, however, pick up the newest limited edition...

When I finally get around to opening it, the black cover for me and the two pinks for my daughter.

@Espetar Love the die cut covers so far but particularly nice in the leather field notes cover I got a couple of weeks back. Agree carrying in a pocket though I'd rather have the regular cover particularly for sticking in a back pocket. Your daughter should love the multi-color pink ones, very cool.

@jlowrance Know what you mean. I guess if I limited myself to a handful of knives I'd consider buying them if I kept a Hinderer anyway, just like having a large variety of knives right now more. To be honest I could be happy with a few Bad Monkeys, the SATU, Sebenza 25, ZT0456, & ZT0302. At some point I know I'll sell off quite a few and keep my favorites, to be honest if and when I do that the Hinderers probably would be up for sell. I like them a lot but not my favorites. Carrying the Bad Monkeys all week has reminded me how much I really like their stonewashed drop points. Not a real fan of their Tantos or coated blades although I own a few. For now though I'm enjoying carrying and rotating everything I own, just fun.

That's an interesting take on the tanto blade design!

@JMJ Yes it is, I like it better than most tantos but I am just not a tanto guy, like their drop points better.

Very much the same for me with the few I've owned. I honestly wish some American knife maker would put out something with a traditional Japanese tanto blade shape, so much smoother lined than the Americanized version we see so much. image.png
