Black rifles should be against the law!

And whatever you do, do not, do NOT install them on your tractor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tested some black hills 77 grain otm ammo last weekend. The rifle used is at the top of this page. Upper was bought from cmmg complete in 06’ I believe, 1 in 8 twist, 18” barrel with mid length gas. The scope is an old 6x fixed power bushnell, Japanese manufacture from the 1970’s-80’s. Dpms lower with a rock river mil spec trigger. Shot from 50 yards prone, longest yardage available with a good back stop. I shot 5 round groups and checked the target, probably a mistake since I wasn’t in the same position for the next 5 shots, 10 shots total on 2 of the targets and last target was five shots. I know I can improve the groups with a better trigger and off of a bench.

The same rifle was used on the same day as above post but with some mystery.223 hollow point ammo I picked up in 2020. It was already loaded in a magazine. I believe it was 69 grain. Pretty impressed by the results with this ammo. First 5 shots are circled with sharpie. It seems to be true that .223 is more accurate than 5.56.

I have half a box left of the black hill 5.56 77 grain otm and the mystery .223. I will be testing them out on a real range off of a bench in a couple of weeks at 100 yards. I’m going to use rifle targets with a grid instead of the pistol targets posted. I will post the results. I have never really shot groups using heavier grain ammo with this rifle, shameful considering shooting heavy grain bullets is why I went with this barrel option almost 20 years ago.
Post up some of your targets from your evil black rifles good or bad. Blasting at steel is fun but sometimes you have to actually shoot for groups to practice fundamentals.

Painted my dad’s 17hmr. GWACS armory polymer lower, Alexander arms complete upper -came with mag well conversion , not sure what scope he is using. It’s a sweet shooter but can be fussy with ammo.

Top: my work gun, it's a BCM 14.5 middy that's been through a couple upgrades. PWS brake, Streamlight rail mount 2, Magpul sling and sights. Vortex Sparc AR.
Middle: brand new Aero Precision 14.5 middy, test fired only. I bought this in panic before WA state enacted its weapons ban. Surefire x300 with remote switch, VG6 brake, T-Rex arms sling and Holosun 510 red dot and 3x magnifier, Magpul pro sights.
Bottom: Aero Precision EPC, bought for fun and around the house, Olight Odin mini, Vortex Sparc AR solar, BFG Vickers sling. This one is waiting for the Form 1 to get approved so I can put a real stock on it.
I prefer to carry an extra mag attached to the buttstock, hence the shock cord and toggles. The slings also have some type of retention to keep them tight until I pull them loose.
Each is different but essentially set up the same for familiarity.
