My Pinhoti came in the mail today. I haven't been this excited about a knife release in a while. Next time I carve a spoon I'll put it to work and toss in my 2 cents worth of opinion. Outstanding job @shaneadams90, thanks for showing us scandi geeks some love!
Yes...Factory sheath shown in the photos...originally designed by Spen at JRE Industries...made by us. Spen sells the sheath by itself on his website.
I've been EDCing my Pinhoti several days a week since it arrived. I've gotta say that as my first friction fold it's won me over. cptstowe, on Flickr
Stoked to hear you like it Rick.. I never doubted that you would "get it" once you put some work in with it.
Appreciate it. I honestly expected to wish it was a fixed blade, but I haven't found it lacking capability at all.
Have you used the friction lock to make any small shavings? I want to get some fatwood and make those dusty shavings that just poof!
Not for that, but I was working on some cordage the other day and definitely scrapes the outer coating of a yucca leave off like a champ. It's sharp enough to scrape it but with less chance of coating the fibers than when using the edge of a blade.
Just purchased the pinhoti! Thank you to @shaneadams90 and @5col Can’t wait to beat it up Novice question but how many have they made now? First batch was 300 are they on second batch? JW
so the total number came out to around 306-7 I think. Only the first 300 were numbers "x of 300". .... after that they went to sequential numbers. My sons have 301 and 302 I think. No news on WHEN the next batch will run....we are still buried in open orders/back orders and headed into SHOT show which I anticipate will only add a significant amount of orders on TOP of what we already have.
