[video=youtube;PSqFFA6r9BI] Wanted to Play around with my ESEE CR 2.5 on camera and try to get a fire in a few minutes with it. i have not had this knife for that long but i do like it allot i have been carrying a Esee jg3 for months and this is basically its little brother. It works very well for anything to do with fire (ferro rods, kindling, feathersticking)and also works well for tasks int he kitchen and edc tasks. The price is around $75 online and that comes with a leather sheath. other than the leather sheath my only other gripes are the front of the handle scales right before the blade are strangely shaped(blocky) and the uncoated 1095 blade will rust under the micarta grips. Im happy with mine and glad i bought its extremely sharp and compact without being too small for my medium size hands.
Nice review. I don't care for floppy leather sheaths either. The sheaths that I have used so far with the Camplore series wet form very well though and provide better than average passive retention.
