Wondering if anybody has both and they can see how the 5 fits in a hpg kit bag.
    Thanks!

Thanks! I'm thinking about putting together a survival kit based around one if their kit bags that I can wear full time when back country hiking even when my main pack is off. The 5 seems like a good knife for this because if I have lost my main pack then things are going really bad lol.

Heavy heavy knife to be wearing on your chest. Go for a run and all that weight is knocking on your chest....

    just saying....

Id stick a 3 in there no prob, but a 5, damn.......keep it on the belt :D

Lol, I know, I figured alot of guys carry a full size pistol and extra mags in the kit bag so a 5 in there can't be that bad!

yea you got point there......and the HPG bags are pretty nicely padded on the back....

I still say run it light and fast....Esee 3 or izula 2, esee firesteel filled with PJCB tinder, a compass, RITR notebook and Spacepen, big garbage bag for shelter, braided fishing line for shelter rigging, small fishing kit, energy bars, water purify tabs, and heavy duty ziplock bags for gathering food and water.

I have an original and recon (with a HPG general purpose pouch on the front) kit bag. I would use the original for what you want to use it for. I can feel things on my chest when using the recon because it’s thinner.

I agree with Bushman5, the lighter the better.
However, when wearing them while biking I can’t get them under about 4lbs once loaded and I don’t carry much in them. Although, my dang phone weighs 1lb. hahahah
