How are you guys carrying your esee 3? The clip plate has the knife to high for a fat guy. I want to horizontal carry so I ordered some pull the dot loops and they are a little to short for the factory sheath.

Rig some paracord through the holes on the sheath for horizontal belt carry, not fancy but very functional imho.
Must admit I usually carry my fixed blades in or on my pack :D

I would get a leather backer with the desired length, so I can keep the awesome plastic sheath and have the knife hang as low as I want it.

I use pull the dot loops. Right side, handle up, edge forward (if tucked inside the waistband) if mounted outside, edge facing the rear.

It tried the pull the dot loops but they were going to be too tight to go around the sheath. Maybe I wasn’t doing it right.

I don’t loop them around the sheath. They are just attached to one side. This allows you to change the angle a little too by canting the straps a bit .

Maybe take a look at the Molle back. It works on my 6 to get it below the waist belt on my pack. I don’t use the top retention with a pack though. I’ve never tried the 3 or 4 backs so can’t speak to those.

edit to add sorry I missed the horizontal carry part. That’s what happens when you reply during a zoom meeting.

I have a baldric rig for the winter so I can carry it over a heavy coat. Some I carry with the stock clip, it allows for low profile carry, some I use a tek lock on (horizontal), others are attached to bags. I have seen them looped with Paracord for horizontal carry.
