More, so much more! Including walking the old Dewdney Trail/Wagon Road and driving further east in BC to the semi arid desert regions.

as well, @Twoody88 got to test out his new Velocity Systems Jungle webbing rig on this adventure. He was beyond stoked at how well it rode on his frame and at how light it was. I'll let Bro add his thoughts here.

The whole day was awesome. Walking the trail and exploring the area can't be described in text. Being a history nerd made it next level. The velocity gear performed flawless and retained little to no water, dried quick even in the cold weather and stayed comfortable with literally no field adjustment . If anyone else wants a tactical trashbag I know a guy who knows a guy who has a line on them cheap

After exploring literally every inch of Bills cabin, we checked out the two cabins that were crushed (literally) and swept away by a debris torrent from the towering mountain behind the property.

We left the debris torrent and headed west on the historic Dewdney wagon trail, now heavily overgrown in spots. Literally every 5th or 6th tree had either bear scratches or cougar scratches on them. Animal scat everywhere.

We wandered the trail, marvelling at how the wagon wheel ruts where still visible on the old trail.

My right leg tendon was acting up, so we cut the hike short and headed back to Camp Defiance. Got ready for the river crossing again.
Found lots of old discarded tin cans and stuff off the Dewdney trail , as well as a massive Douglas fir root ball that had been uprooted by winter snow weight as well as pawed thru by a very large bear. (For grubs)

during the river crossing, we spied a Canada Goose mother with her duckling (last pic)

Once back at the truck, @Twoody88 changed into dry clothes, socks , boots. I chose to remain soaking wet in my clothes, boots.
We drove further east on Hwy 3 CrowsNest and passed by Manning Park main parking lot/cabins/ ranger station.

drove further east and started climbing the mountains out of the Manning Park region, into the arid semi desert region of the start of the Interior region of BC

Driving further east on Hwy 3, past Manning Park and climbing the mountains that lead to the arid semi desert region of BC, thru Princeton, Cawstom, Hedley and Keromeos - all fruit growing / vineyard rich areas due to the soil and sun.

A 20LB box of apples was $8 - 10. Compared to Vancouver where apples were $4 - 5 a LB - next time I'm out this way I'm buying about 5 boxes and dehydrating them

@Twoody88 has lots of pics of the arid region.

felt pretty nice to drive thru and look at ranches, vineyards, endless open range rolling mountains , old cabins, old trucks and cars.

it was getting pretty late, I'd been up since 0430 hours, and we had not only hiked rough / wet / overgrown terrain / rivers all day, we had driven over 850 KM's. We finally , didn't want to , turned around and headed home. I dropped Bro off and drove back to my home to anxious House Panthers waiting for dinner.

My hamstring was acting up and bothering me so Sunday was a super lazy "hike" - just wanted to get out of the city, eat lunch overlooking the Howe Sound ocean, drunk hot chocolate, take some photos and check out the severely blown out creek (from the monsoons the last few days, plus the warm temps melting the mountain snow pack).

I parked the truck and donned my webbing. Th weather system was clearing, it had been pouring monsoon rains all night/morning, now the temps were skyrocketing and the amount of mist rising off the ocean and mountains was insane.

A middle aged Malaysian man at the viewpoint with his wife, came over and asked me to take their picture. I happily obliged and we chatted a bit. He had served as a soldier in his country in his youth and asked if he could try my webbing on. He loved how it hugged the body and did not move or flop around. I wrote down all the pouches, webbing belt, harness maker names for him.
We chatted for about 30 minutes about gear and then they headed further on up the Sea To Sky Hwy , to Squamish , where they had planned to ride the Gondola, hike the Chief climbing area to the view point, and then go river rafting in the Squamish River Valley on Monday.

I headed out , checking the usual track traps, nothing new - the heavy rains over the last week had obliterated all tracks in the soft soil/mud.

However, since I was here a few weeks ago - the foliage has grown an insane amount.

A very large bear had clawed deep into a standing dead Douglas fir tree. It was fresh, about a day old, you could smell the freshly clawed wood despite the heavy torrents of rain this morning.

more trip report coming - gotta edit photos

yea we Canucks get screwed up here - CAD to USD conversion, International shipping, and Canada Customs charges plus Shipper fees

a simple Velocity Systems utility pouch that costs $45 USD in the States, costs me around $200 CAD after dollar conversion, shipping, duties, carrier fees.

my main webbing rig is worth over $3000 CAD, not including cargo inside

Headed up the Hwy 99 Sea To Sky and headed off into the regular stomping grounds.

I was wearing my webbing rig, plus I had extra gear in my Platatac Jungle Ruck. Wanted to carry extra water / gear to get used to the weight, and see how comfortable the ruck was over my webbing.

The forest floor was still wet from the monsoon rains. Right off the bat I spied fresh boot prints in the soil. I figured it was a fisherman as the tracks were heading in the direction of the fisherman's trail down to the ocean. I spotted the two anglers later down the coastline from me.

the creek was back down to normal levels, so I crossed it and headed onwards to the descent path down to the ocean. Beautiful day, not too hot, barely any rain, clearing skies, and a gentle breeze.

todays hiking goals was to break in the Jungle Ruck, make char cloth/rope, have a nice lunch by the ocean and clear out the dead tree branches around the beach front fire pit.

    Description / report loading

Gathered pine pitch with the Esee 4, as well as pencil lead sized dead dry twigs. Made some shavings and sparked them with my blaze orange @Sam Wilson / GEAR CONVOY BUSHsteel.

got the fire roaring hot with all the dead dry undergrowth on the trees.

prepped the MKettle with tinder and lit that too. I make waterproof "fuel" pellets by soaking cotton balls in wax. To use them (expose the fibers) you smash them flat with a rock or knife spine. Boiled water to heat up my ricotta / spinach tortellini . Lunch was loaded tortellini with a can of baked beans, and sardines in olive oil. (The tinned sardines in olive oil are a great survival food - nutrient dense, extremely healthy for you, and the olive oil has multi uses - food, lip balm, lubricant, wound treatment, fire accelerant, lamp oil, cooking use).

lunch was epic. Carbs from the pasta, long term fats energy from the ricotta cheese, beans and olive oil, high fiber from the beans.
