I haven't tried the hatchet, but had one of the 26" camp axe's since my teens. The shape of the bit is a pretty poor design, they are super thin, they chop ok but get stuck. It will not split firewood. The build quality and steel are good. I prefer wood handles, they just feel so much better. To me wood handles give a tool soul. You pick up a wood handle tool and want to use it. With a metal, plastic or fiberglass handle you just use it because you have too.
I’m not a fan of Estwing hatchets. Dad has owned one for years. Like it was mentioned earlier they st I’m when chopping and don’t split very well at all. I’d rather spend my money on a wooden handled ax or a fiskars.
love em. You can;t fark them up. You can use them as hammers. No water swelling or wood cracking in the handle. good tools for the truck box
