    On a side note, cut tail into chunks, marinate for several hours in course ground mustard roll in cornmeal and deep fry. It’s good as heck.

    We launched right on the Georgetown/Charleston county line. Go down 17, get off at the boat launch and take the river system toward the ocean :)

    18% of the body weight of an alligator is generally meat that is normally eaten.

    That's what I've heard. The guys I hunted with just take the tail and the jowls. They don't fool with trying to get a little here and there off the torso.

    Oh No, the legs are like little roast for slow moist cooking. Not much meat on the ribs but they are good eating.

    I have had that exact prep and dish up here in Vancouver BC of all places!!!! . Local meat importer brings in Emu, gator, rattlesnake, catfish etc. One of the fancy bistros did a gator kebab night - it was EPIC!

    That's how we used to do it at the restaurant I worked at, Its a wild game restaurant so we had all kinds of different creatures to experiment on.
