Had an encounter yesterday that really pointed out knowing your gear and knowing how to use it. Went hunting with my son and some friends. While we were waiting for the other guys at the truck a guy comes walking up the road.

Long story short he went to school with my kids and some how he got his 4wd Tacoma stuck and couldn’t get out. Drove to his truck And I couldn’t figure out why it was stuck. Wheels weren’t buried or anything.

Turned out he didn’t know you have to remove the center caps off the aftermarket rims and lock the hubs to use the 4wd. We had a lesson on how to use his truck and got him on the road. Very respectful and nice kids. This was at about 630 pm and at 8,000 feet, so it dips into the 30s at night. Would have been a rough night for him and his girlfriend if we weren’t up there hunting.

Really shows to test your gear before you use it. Had a good discussion about that with my son on the drive down.

I wish these scammers would change their tactic.
Getting tired of the phone calls about my vehicles extended warranty.
They’ve been trying to reach me about it for like a year now.

Don't get me started on my vehicles "extended warranty".....
All hours of the day and night they call me about it....
I block their number and they call from another number....
THE PROBLEM.... Is they use local numbers to call and a local number i might need to answer...

BUT & AND.... I have never actually bought a vehicle in my name or using my phone Number... So there's that also...

 

I just hit the screen call button, I used to answer it silently.

 

My personal iPhone will say it is a spam risk, or I notice they have spoofed a number from some local small town.

My work phone is a Samsung and it doesn’t give the location of the call or warn about otential scams.
Being it is my work phone I always answer it even if I don’t have the number saved.

And they get me every time.

 

They called one of my co-workers today. He got a live person on the phone. He tried to get a warranty on a 2015 Dodge S-H-I-T (he spelled that part out) box. He had to tell her a few times, because she couldn't find that model. He finally told her to read it back to him, she started to then hung up on him.

 

I needed to get to Auto Zone at lunch and along the way was nothing but sadness. The one junk food establishment that I visit and admit to liking was no more. It was demolished and rumor has it that they are replacing the building from the 80s that they occupied. I spent a lot of meals during high school there once Taco Bell opened up. Gonna miss my standard 3x bean burritos, no onion.

Farewell Taco Bell, until you rise from the ashes like the Phoenix I will have sorrow in my heart.

 

Noticed on DoorDash that the same restaurant has two different delivery fees given between my phone and my wife’s.

Mine says $2.99 delivery and on my wife’s account it is $4.99 delivery.

 

That's interesting but I think I have seen that happen with other items and services. We don't have any delivery options here, actually we don't have anything worth getting delivered here. We did talk Advance Auto Parts into bringing us milkshakes one time.

 

First Gun show locally in over a year this weekend. Also first since the elections.. We will see how crazy people have become..
I have a pretty firm shopping list and set prices I’m willing to pay. A year ago I know that I could have gotten what I wanted.. But now I fear I might not get anything.
On a positive note to all that, I unlike a lot of people actually have ammo. SO hopefully I can keep negotiation reasonable when people know they also might get some ammo in trade
