I've seen something smilier with a photographer in Cades Cover. Idiots.

The bear showed considerably more restraint than the human. It could have been a "what's for dinner" moment.....

see it all the time in Metro Vancouver....tourists (almost always from a certain genre....) go to Grouse Mountain to see the penned in grizzly bears and then you see the same genre of tourists (and residents from that genre) stopped on the side of the road near Squamish/whistler, feeding the damn things.

they think its "cute" , that their helping feed the bears. Got to get that selfie. Got to take a pic of their kids with the bear. (or moose or deer or elk bla bla bla)

personally I'm hoping that a bear violently slaughters an entire family , just to drive home the message.

people have been de-sensitized to wildlife thanks to Disney and animated shows and movies. same thing with nature - they never step off the boardwalk trail or they think they can go hiking to Deeks Lake in flip flops, shorts and a tank top.

I will never forget the family of 4 I saw , in their Mercedes SUV, near the Olympic site in Whistler. Throwing bagels at a grizzly, less than 6 feet from them. Two kids about 6 - 9 years old.

I unleashed a magnum can of bear spray and followed up with a bear banger. Reported them to the CO and RCMP.

    should have sprayed THEM

Ugh. Try living on the edge of Yellowstone. I'm continually amazed at how humanity has come to view wildlife like it's Disneyland. There's rarely a day I'm not rooting for the bears and bison.
