Anyone living in or coming to Tulsa tomorrow, please be safe, and be smart.

We are living in strange times, and there is a rough history in Tulsa in relation to current issues. In fact a dark time of our history occurred 99 years ago not too many blocks away from where this event is happening Saturday evening.

Hopefully cool tempers prevail and nothing stupid happens.

I just recently finished HBO's The Watchmen. The show provided brutal imagery for what Tulsa was like during the massacre. Its hard to believe what people are capable of.

I heard about the show but haven’t seen it.

There was like 32 city blocks that were burned to the ground.

They still don’t know how many died.

I’ll tell you this much, it was not in my Oklahoma history book as a child.

I didn’t know either until I moved to Tulsa, and there really hasn’t been much said about it until the last few years.

It has been almost completely left out of written history.

There is a really in depth write up about multiple similar events that happened in the late teens and early twenties.

They mentioned a part I forgot.

They were flying around in airplanes over Greenwood dropping kerosene bombs onto houses, making Tulsa the only American city to ever be bombed from the air.
