A man who does not know the history of John Ek, are you serious? Like I have said before, these legends like Ethan are getting hard to find. Always a pleasure picking his brain and hearing about his life experiences.
Sorry, I'm not a knife guy. Somebody just dropped me off here and I can't find my way out. I'm cold and hungry and heard this Becker guy makes great food.
About the same since essentially a private endeavor and @Eric closes it when numbers approach 20-30. These things can get out of hand as far as attendance. The first year we did the gathering, I received over 100 requests to attend after I had closed sign-ups. I whittled it down to about 40 or so and then further to around 20 squared away alumni.
The spine on the green handled one, the BK29, why the false edge all the way down the spine? Do you know why it was designed that way? At a glance it would seem to be a baton eater. This picture gave me sesame Street syndrome. One of these things is not like the other and I want to know why
the 20 and 29 both have a full length swedge - but the spine is still a strong .125" wide flat, so not a baton eater. OTOH, it improves the balance while maintaining tip strength and helps with flow when cutting through soft materials. and I generally cut off the sign up list when it hits 35 "confirmed" because I know there will be some cancellations and 30 is plenty of folks around the campfire on half moon ridge.
