I used red straw for fire opposed to other colors which are my waterproof mini salt and pepper straws.
I used approx 3 ear swabs and a teaspoon of petroleum jelly. Used ear swab as a ramrod and in other end used ear swab as a plug. I placed what I wanted in what length straw I wanted. Then closed end.
I then clipped off ear swab and ran in and poured Krazy glue in for permanent plug. I left tag end a little long and sealed it off with a lighter. I took my straight pin from sak and heated it and made a hole through end for slipping onto ring on knife.
Slit the straw and pull out fibers to catch a spark, burn time is approx 3-4 mins
2nd tinder is my Victorinox waxed helical tinder, 3rd is the flammable fob also on ring.
The Explorer has the 6x lens to make an ember in horse foot fungus and 2nd is Victorinox corkscrew ferro rod.

A Leatherman sheath for the SAK and components is perfect. 33F0C02A-CCAE-4361-9ADF-D61F02809965.jpeg 39FA2A77-C7B2-4635-A3BB-FA1ED1F5989D.jpeg 7F32DEB4-9BFB-4406-9FDC-4A834919F60E.jpeg E1043F7E-4F1F-4F8C-B289-AC0641DA8943.jpeg

Fishing kit is 30’ of 15# braid, 4 flies which can be used as is or add bait, 2 larger hooks, salt pack dehydrated corn which will hydrate back in about 20 mins, and some Gulp red worm fish bait.

Leatherman sheath allows for a 250 Streamlight on the side. Size and weight is still good and a few more items may be added yet.

Update to my edc belt kit. I HIGHLY recommend this setup.

Leatherman sheath with 2 pockets and 2 stretchy loops. Allow for the Streamlight, up to a SwissChamp (recommended model) and the aluminum tube with screw on lid and gasket.

Inside the sheath is a 2nd pocket meant for Leatherman bits and extension, but we use for char cloth sealed in mylar (for the magnifying lens on the SwissChamp), a diamond sharpener sealed in a straw, 2 petroleum jelly saturated cotton balls, for additional tinder in addition to your Fireant ferro rod and waxed tinder stored in your corkscrew on the SwissChamp, meds sealed in straws, Tylenol, aspirin, Benadryl, imodium ad, neosporin saturated cotton in a straw, water purification tablets in a straw? The sky is the limit to combinations.

I am not sure what will go in the aluminum tube but you can get 5 of them for something like $7.99 off of Amazon. Perhaps I’ll add my straw fishing kit to it.

Extra info: the lanyard on the sak is Exotac flammable paracord, this stuff will grab a spark and flame up on the first couple strikes on the Fireant.

It’s all for options, I like options!

    You guys have any ideas?
