My son got a goat yesterday. His first archery goat! The goat moved when he released so it hit further back than it should have. Took about 45 minute search to recover. Looked like he hit liver mainly. The 150 grain Slick Tricks did the job! Blood trail was significant so wasn’t to hard to track.
My First Deer! As I tell people.. “Ive been Hunting my whole life!” BUT!… “Haven’t done much “Hunting Killing”
I really don’t hear it talked about much… But shot placement is something you should be proud off IMO. The quickest, Most effective and Most Humane shots is what we should all aim for IMO. From my deer yesterday.. Double lung and possibly heart shot. It managed 1 hop stumbled and was down and dead within 50 feet. As a added bonus there was no damage to any of the meat we normally use.
Took the 30-30 out for a hunt today. Got a goat but didn’t get a picture. My son got one too. And we forgot to take a picture again. And so I present my spent cartridge of success. I was going to start a 2022 hunt thread but figured I’d wait until I remember a picture of the animal.
