So I'm pretty set on a blade in the 6 range only choice for me is ESEE 6 I had considered the 4 and the laser strike and CM just don't tickle my fancy but my dilemma as so many of us have is I have no way to use the knife before hand or even handle the knife so any thoughts or input would be most appreciated ...I KNOW THEY AREW BOTH GOOD CHOICES AND CAN"T GO WRONG WITH EITHER but it's quite a bit of coin and I want to buy the one that fits me best, basically I will be using it when I go light and fast in the bush..

How do you feel about finger choils?

On big knives they are useful I guess don’t really have much experience with them

I would pick the standard 6 in large part because the sheath is awesome. No matter how many CampLore models I buy, I can’t get past the pouch style sheath.

I am not crazy about the 6's handle, so I would go with the 6-hm. The Laser Strike feels better in my hand than my other ESEE's, which are limited to a 6 and an Izula.

the original 6 used to be my "if I only had one" knife -- then they came out with the 6HM.
same blade, no stupid choil, and while I'm fine with the pouch sheath, it also fits great in a spec ops combat sheath.

This, and a smaller knife like a JG3 or similar.

Then the Junglas-2 might be too big. The HM6 might be the best bet but I’m not sure of the size difference between OG 6 and HM6

I got both but have big hands. I don’t use them a lot. I did replace the scales on the standard 6 because they were too small.

I think the HM series is a major improvement on the ergos of the 3 and 4, but the 6 I liked pretty well in the original format. The handle suits a larger knife, I think.

I have both. My OG 6 has TKC slabs, and I love both of them. I wear mechanix small or medium... the HM is certainly more hand filling.

I have both. I wear size XL gloves and both fit my hand just fine.
