With all the current events going on, I thought this would be a good topic to discuss...Lets say a nuke goes off and you aren't too close to be disintegrated, what would you do? Do you really have a plan or preparations (items, food, shelter) I found the link below helpful. Please share any plans, ideas, links, or lists of items you have. http://lifehacker.com/where-to-hide-if-a-nuclear-bomb-goes-off-in-your-area-1793493053 DISCLAIMER/WARNING-- I understand this teeters on political discussions and that is not the intent of this thread...Please follow the forum rules and keep this discussion strictly about preparedness. I feel that some really helpful info can be shared here if we can keep on topic (I know where I am and I understand thats asking alot lol)
Thanks for posting the link. I have a number of books related to prepping for the outfall of a nuclear blast and I'm old enough to remember the cold war drills. It's easy to joke about this but I choose not .... Survival favors the prepared mind. Don't let anyone ridicule you for preparing and learning for all scenarios ...
Anytime I've looked into the scenario its been pretty grim. Iodine tabs and hope for the best is all i could come up with.
Hunker down for a few days then try to contact friends and family (if possible) to figure out a game plan and look for better shelter and supplies
It's pads that are covered in "decon powder". I believe it's mostly charcoal. Each wallet has 6 packets, which is enough to decon one person 3 times.
Exactly. This just comes down to luck. If you close to the blast nothing will save you. I guess I'm pretty safe here in Scotland. There is nothing around here apart from sheep, deep fried food and ugly ginger haired men in skirts. Who would want to bomb that?
