    I have a soft 20. I wish it was a 30. I would go with a 30.

Anyone know why you can't add a 65 to your cart? I was going to buy one but it just shows sold out. I can't even get one on order for future delivery.

Depends on what you take fishig with you. Please note that the soft side 30 holds about 20 actual quarts. The soft 30 has almost the same interior volume as my roto 20.

Lets say 6 water bottles, 2 sandwiches, maybe a few smaller snacks plus ice packs.

I'm pretty sure the 20 would do just fine for that.

I have the soft 30 and wouldn't go any smaller, it fills up pretty quickly. As the poster above mentioned, it's 30 cans/ 20 quarts.

Easily hold that. In my experience I've held waters, a couple half subs, and ice packs in it no problem.

I was originally going to get a Engel 19 cooler/drybox but I don't think it will keep stuff cold enough on 100 degree days, so if the Rtic is closer to the that size I will take the 30.

    Engel 19 dry box - L16 x W11 x H13
    Rtic soft 20 - L13.5 x W9.5 x H 13.75
    Rtic soft 30 - L15.5 x W11.5 x h12.75

So both the RTICs will end up with smaller exterior dimensions than the Engel 19, plus be soft and have carrying straps.

Looking up those dimensions, I just realized that the 20 is actually taller than the 30.

I have the Engel dry box. It WILL NOT keep things cool like that. It's not really a cooler.

I think I'm gonna pass on soft coolers for now and go with a Grizzly 15 or Vibe element 20.

I'm trying to find the best lightest roto molded cooler in a 20 size, its the weight of the coolers that is killing my success.

I don't need 3 days of ice, just a good days worth with decent room for two adult lunches and extra cold water in 100 degree weather.

I almost ordered a RTIC 20 but that SOB weighs 17 pounds....

Is this just to toss in the boat? or are you carrying it up and down a stream/river? I'd go roto in a boat, just so it doesn't get torn up. Unless it's a kayak, then it would depend on the boat. If you're carrying it a lot, I'd go soft as well. As a matter of fact, if I had to carry it a lot, I'd actually consider paying for a Yeti Hopper. I don't know of any other soft coolers (of that caliber) that are shaped to carry under your arm comfortably like that.

This morning (around 5) I had 4 waters, 2 gatorades, 2 sandwiches, and an ice pack in my RTIC soft 20. Everything is still ice cold at lunch time.

Its going on a fishing boat, it a tracker 175 with a 60hp so weight is kinda critical.

No bad choice in the group then really. If I was taking it in a boat like that, I'd go roto since they're easier to open without the zipper, and you can double them as a step or a seat.

That being said, all rotos are heavy. The vibe's only like 2.5lbs lighter.

This is for a real fishing boat, not some make believe Mr. Rogers crap.
