I have a "survival panel" that I got at wal-mart. It is silver on one side and blue on the other. I used it saturday to survive a rainstorm while I was chauffeuring some friends around the Big Horns in our side by side.

Forest service truck came by and stopped, wondering why there was a rzr with a tarp (I mean survival panel) draped over it just sitting there but he left when he realized we all had our clothes on.

Does this orange one work better for surviving torrential rains and forest service rangers?

I stood before the ESEE/RAT survival panel, plead guilty, and was declared incapable of rational thinking. The deciding factor was the question "How many Esee knives do you own?"

I think it's an excellent piece of survival gear, even if it doesn't have a bottle opener. You can use the snaps to mate two of the panels together.

Be aware that the fabric the Tarp is made out of does not have any UV coating so if you leave it in sunlight for a long time (days) it will begin to fade. I left a piece of this fabric out for months and it eventually fades to white . If you use it for what it is intended, survival, emergency, it will last a long time. You should be able to wad it up and stuff it in a pants pocket with no trouble.

Everything should have a bottle opener, even sandals now have them on the bottom. You just have to hope you didn't step in dog poop in your yard before opening the beer.

What do you expect with your Ninja criteria, like 3 years drawing a bow before you get the first arrow? This is the I want it now era.

Expat learned to fly the ESEE jet in less than 3 hours. I suppose he's an exception to the rule here.
