DAMN !!! I want that shirt !!!!!!!!! In my chosen field I have somewhat of a reputation as hardline, and politically incorrect. When seeking the answer to certain problems my response has, in meetings, been "HEADS ON PIKES, it sends an appropriate message..." !!
Yeah, we need more of that sort of attitude these days. We need to stop worrying so much about people's self-esteem and start worrying about getting stuff done.
The funny, sad, almost strange, part of it is just how many people don't actually understand what "heads on pikes" means !!! Either figuratively or literally. Back during another part of my career I had a couple of very old school guys working for me. Both had retired after decades in the business (one was my boss at another agency years ago) but got bored and came back to work. They were great, between them over 75yrs of experience and zero "career" aspirations. As their boss I could take advice from them on about any subject without fear that it was then going to be spun into something against me blah blah blah.....the very first time I came out with "heads on pikes" at a staff meeting both burst out laughing and said that they missed the 70s and 80s and I had just taken them right on back to a time where the outcome was at least as important as the path taken, not now where the path and PC etc is all pervasive !
