Just a brief Community Service Announcement - this is already in a couple of our threads but it is worth repeating. One of the most common current MOs for the bottom feeding scammers that troll across multiple message boards is to sign up then start sending unsolicited messages/conversations to people who have perhaps posted a WTB for a specific item. Your new best friend - the bottom feeding scammer - just happens to have a "friend" who have that very item for sale and goes on to provide the contact details for said friend. On this or other forums of which I am a member, I have yet to ever hear of this being legit (I am sure someone has been but not that I have heard about). 99% of the time this will be a scam. Please use the report function and Admin will deal with them. I can say that it has been my experience here that the moment one of these scumbags starts spamming messages out, the Admin report box starts overflowing. This is a good thing, we do try to acknowledge each report but sometimes that gets too difficult but once reported it will get actioned ASAP as we have pretty good coverage across different time zones (I clearly do the work of 10 ). If it turns out the person is NOT a scammer we will happily let you know and I am sure they will understand the caution. Also, if a deal seems to be too good to be true, well you know how that saying goes, but given how small of a group we are here the bonafides of the seller should not be too hard to establish, worst that may happen through exercising some caution is that you miss a deal, not doing so makes that deal look pretty bad when your $s vanish into cyberspace. We try and get them before they get past the gate but occasionally one makes it under the wire. Take care all. Andy

Another just run off. These bottom feeders just wish to part you from your $s. On another forum I frequent I just saw one offering up several $2K plus items for sale (at $2k they were cheap enough to be a deal but not so cheap so as to scream scam). Please look after yourselves !
Just a heads up all. We have just had another batch of the “If you still want this my friend has one here is his email” scam messages going out in “conversations”. There is a 99.9% chance that if you receive such a message it is some scumbag looking to swindle you out of your dollars. Please do not fall for it and just use the report function so the profile can be banned. While we use reasonable due diligence prior to approving a new account there is never a guarantee that we get them all at that point. Cheers Andy.

…..yes got the report. That one is already banned for similar behaviour! Apparently it has a friend with lots of ESEE gear.
