That’s all @Emac ’s file work on the scales and the tang. I did some lesser quality file work on some stock scales and you’re so correct about it not being easy or fun.

I forgot about the cavities inside so there is a risk of having a failure.

Filing micarta is not fun indeed. With a dremel tool it would be better I guess.

First time I did a set I didn’t wear a N95 mask and I swear I could smell and taste micarta dust for a solid week.

Decided the spine wasn’t squared enough to throw sparks the way I like so file time. E9358A9A-C741-4F49-AAB9-98DC84FAC9B3.jpeg B72438E9-3284-47EF-AD9F-48B9A205500A.jpeg

Thanks brother! This poor Laserstrike sees no mercy, I loved the one @Emac modded and gifted me so much I had to get a second one to beat on and carry without fear of loss like I have for the one with all the file work on the tang and scales. Easily my favorite fixed blade knife design.

So I decided to turn a piece of scrap saddle skirting into a sheath for my Laser Strike. I never liked carrying it with the stock sheath and clip plate. This dangler that I made is so much more comfortable. I'm probably going to make dangler leather backers for the rest of my factory sheaths. I did learn awhile back not to use rivets with kydex. I didn't spend any time making it pretty and my sewing machine was struggling with 3 layers of cheap, dry 15oz veg tan.

I bought this naked blade off of eBay in January’23. Since then I added The Knife Connection’s handles. I am awaiting delivery of a RKCustomKydex sheath next week in red carbon fiber. That’ll put me around the $140 mark in it which I could have bought a new one for… old logo, interesting handles and sheath, priceless!!! IMG_5567.jpeg IMG_5565.jpeg
