This weekend I went to the New River Gorge National Park, Prince, WV. Did the Glade Creek Trail. Follows an old Railroad grade. 7.5 Miles. Had a mix of Rain, Snow and Sun. Creek was really flowing with recent rain.

I haven't. I used to fish when I was younger but not anymore.
The section I was in is Catch and Release for trout. I've seen fishermen there when I have been before.
The Dept of Natural Resources stocks it with trout, I read there's a mix of Brooke, Cut throat and Rainbow trout there.

    Hiked a 113 mile section of the Arizona Trail last week. (5 nights out). Was really cool to see so many different changes in terrain and just to be out hiking for that long again. 79EAB457-F4EE-413E-8EB7-69D972CF87A3.jpeg 195A4AC3-A396-4244-89D5-344C0925578C.jpeg D00F7A85-10B1-4BA3-A650-EB635A78EFB5.jpeg DD485898-2294-4603-91B1-473212720C08.jpeg 98F5DF42-4E37-4418-B43E-4B0243773A78.jpeg 68289FAA-82E2-48A0-9660-3C0C3989D4C8.jpeg 69F06E6F-084F-4AB3-8E0F-0343330C2430.jpeg 9BD1064E-0C83-4BB6-A495-168344960FEE.jpeg F816B060-9737-47AA-BA79-56E801937C5B.jpeg B0986513-4FAF-4E6F-ACB2-FE3CD91F9768.jpeg 823AA264-8B92-43C1-ADBD-627426600382.jpeg 9E8C7854-B00D-4630-835F-C29047827DA2.jpeg 70DA1D75-EA21-41DF-8C8E-3A84B34EDEA2.jpeg 9D5FABE2-8F2A-4775-8CF0-68EE29BD2767.jpeg D870F37F-0EEA-4C4A-889E-80301E0B5D84.jpeg 413E2E2B-2508-4883-821C-D6F52B6785BD.jpeg C75948EE-00BE-44E8-A01B-AD8B145F28FC.jpeg 3911E5C5-CACA-47E3-8FF1-A2E09F8386E6.jpeg 1D21F5DC-CA08-44DA-8646-DC25CCC27FD0.jpeg 7A1D967C-611C-433D-B6B4-CA8FB6299774.jpeg

This weekend I visited the ghost town of Thurmond, WV. Part of the National Park now but still has about 5 residents.
It was a bustling train town 100 years ago. Servicing the area coal mines and towns.
The movie Matewan was filmed here about the mine wars.

The train depot. Now a museum and visitor's center. Amtrak still stops here.

This weekend I did the Bridge Buttress Trail that overlooks the New River Gorge and Bridge.
The trail is mainly used by rock climbers.

With the recent rains the New River was really high. White Water Rafting season just started. They had just took some rafts out when I got there.

Had to scramble up about a 10 ft rock ledge.

Can see the snow storm coming down the Gorge. Wind was pretty nasty, I didn't stay long.

What teeth size are you using?
I feel like I should have went with the xl (6.5 teeth per 30 mm / yellow handle), as a lot of these pines are a bit rotten and tend to clog the middle (10 teeth per 30 mm) teeth faster.

    XL for me.
You can buy just the saw blade, then you'll have both options

True, they also have large (7 teeth per 30 mm) straight blade too. A sheath that holds the saw and a spare blade would be awesome.

Love that spring green explosion. Jealous of the openness of all those trails too, Gotta go quite a ways to find that anywhere near to me.

Saturday I went to New River Gorge National Park again. Did Endless Wall Trail. It was voted Best National Park hike in 2015, due to all the overlooks of the Gorge and New River. Also popular for mountain climbers and white water rafting. Could see a few rafts in the river below, but the river was pretty nasty due to recent rain. Passed a lot of climbers on the trail too.
