Anyone else making ginger beer at home? My recipe is simple. Ginger, ginger bug, lemon juice, water, cane sugar, a few peppercorns, and time. Latest batch. Not quite as smooth as Bunderberg, but close.

Bunderberg is my favorite for sure! I’ve got the flavor and fizz of my homemade brew very similar.

I have been making wine for about two years now, but I haven't made any beers. I accidentally made a lemon wine a sparkling wine once.

Anyway I brought it up to mention that you can't make carbonated drinks in just any container. It has to be able to handle the pressure. They say that wine bottles will burst.

I bought a few fermzilla pressure fermenters last year. I got them on clearance because they are dented. I think they were $35 each. I don't know if they make one smaller than 8 gallons though.

I have seen that happen with Root Beer!
It was a huge mess. Live and learn.

We used to source Old Grolsch Beer bottles with the caps like pictured above.

I suppose on some level this is sad, but we couldn't brew beer fast enough to match our consumption, so we moved on.
What we did make was very good.

Plus these days there are so many good beers on the shelves it's hard to compete, except for the price.
