    Hey all,

Thinking about putting my Izula II back in edc but how it carries is most important. Was thinking about a UtiliClip with the stock sheath but wanted to ask here before ordering one.

    Thanks

Not sure if you carry pocket or belt but for belt I have been using the Matchpoint PTL loops. They are pretty versatile, flip them up or down for a high or low carry position or you can mount them for horizontal carry, work well on MOLLE or pack straps also. Pics are from a different knife but mounting is same on Izula plastic.

Not to derail my own thread, but is that a Gibson knife?

IMO this would be a very slim, low profile set up and theUltiClip is a solid/secure setup.

I have UltiClips on multiple knife sheaths. Very good option. The only other one I would consider is a Discreet Carry Concepts clip. I did loops and pull the dots for years, but after utilizing clips, the loops are relegated to larger fixed blades now.

I’m currently trying that right now. I’m still undecided between the clip and just throwing it my pocket loose.

let me know what you decide. I generally don’t like loose it pocket though because things seem to go horizontal too often.

Just need some skinny jeans and the knife won’t fall. Hahaha just kidding. Emergency sirens would go off if I did that.

the clip really does help keep it vertical though

Just the factory clips are hard to beat. They're my go to on every small blade I have from iwb to belt carry. Solid little piece of material all around.

I actually sewed a little sleeve in my field pants pockets back when I did field work. Like a pocket within a pocket, so my knife was always in the same spot. And not flopping around with whatever other junk I had in there. I carried a SAK back then, but it might be something to think about? A few minutes with a needle and thread might be one solution.

A kydex sheath helps slim the profile. I carry mine in a pliers pocket so I don't need any kind of clip, it just hides out there right at my fingertips.

i use the stock sheath and a short piece of paracord. tethered to a belt loop, and dropped in my front pocket. the ring pommel sticks out the top of the pocket for ease of access. boss would probably yell at me if more of the handle were visible.

I got to use the ulticlip around the house this weekend. Just doing the yard and stuff. The ultimate clip kept the Izula in position all day. I did enjoy being able to use it with out digging around my pockets. I was using athletic shorts so the regular clip wouldn’t work.

i think the ulticlip is a keeper.

Could you tell me which one of these are you using? Gym shorts time is coming and I am considering one of these.

For heavier clothing, especially with a belt IMO the standard sheath and clip make a very low profile IWB carry.

@Bozho i got the slim 3.3 in last week and it’s simple enough to use. It kind of sticks out further than the stock sheath so there’s not as much purchase on the handle for withdrawal. Also, I didn’t use the supplied gaskets because the screws were too short to use with the stock sheath so it’s pinching the sheath and increasing retention and making withdrawal more difficult. It’s a nice product and locks on tight but I need to adjust it more before I’m happy.

I have the 3,3 as well. Honestly I got that one because it was what was available at the time. It is pretty long but it is nice to have the sheath sit a little lower in the pocket. Set up with clip on the handle side it works better. Just have to change how you expect to draw the knife a little.
