I have n affinity for the Fiskars axes !! I don't have a splitting ond but I have a chopping axe and hatchet in my truck plus an even smaller one in the garage for fingers and toes. They are such great value for the $s

GB might have the looks, but for serious work Fiskars is the way to go.

Yes 100%...... where I want to play woodsman dress-ups more traditional axes are prettier (and still functional) but you are right, these just keep on cutting wood !

Haven't posted in a while, as I have mainly made short mtb trips, due to helping with the baby, but here are some recent country side photos :)

Heading back there in a month for a week away from the city.

    Thanks, guys!

Andy, a fort at this place was originally made back in Roman times, but no one seems to know exactly when. After many changes made to it, it was lastly used in 1885 in the Serbian - Bulgarian war.

The first one says "The glory of the Motherland lies on the bones of those, who have lived and died for Her with dignity".

The second one has the places where the most important battles were fought.

Went on a very nice hike with the wife today. The J2 is probably the best sandwich cutter and carries so well for a larger knife. I am really happy with these Mechanix gloves. Very warm and they were 100% wind proof, I was really surprised. Amazing gear.

It will get a lot of use. I love the 6, but the J2 just makes me feel more comfortable in winter outings. I fed it with snow a couple of times when I fell today :D The kydex still has moisture inside, so I left it dry overnight. The molle feels so good with a backpack with a waist belt, I will definitely get one for the 6.

We actually got very nice weather with a bit of sun and around 0 Celsius. But when the wind started blowing like crazy, outside the forest, it got chilly.

    On the 4th picture, right?
It is a memory sign of the founder of this Megalith - Alexander Fol, whose ashes were spread over there, as he thought of it as a portal to life after death. We have lots of Thracian stone structures, I got some books about them, very interesting stuff. These guys for sure knew things that we now don't, for life and after.

Here you can see more about this particular structure - https://bnr.bg/en/post/100558786/megalith-near-buzovgrad-or-gateway-to-afterlife

During the summer solstice - 21st June - the sun shines directly through the hole in the Megalith.
    The place has energy :)

    IMG_20200912_153444.jpg

Less than 1 km from the Megalith are the remains of a Roman fortress and the foundations of a Christian church from 6th century.
