The Rifle belonged to my wife’s late grandfather. It’s been sitting in a closet for a few decades. Gun wouldn’t fire when I got it. The barrel and action were pretty rusted with some pitting. Removed as much of it as I could before re-blueing. Didn’t come out perfect but I think it’s fine. The stock was beat up really good and the old lacquer finish was yellowing. Removed the old finish and sanded most of the dings out. Did a hand rub finish with Birchwood Casey Tru Oil. Ended up being about 4 coats to get the shine where I though it should be. I tracked down someone with parts online and was able to replace the sear spring. Rifle functions fine now and is near silent with CCI Quiet rounds.
I would love to have one of those. Those old long barrel .22s are quiet. I have a 23" Remington 512 and a newer 25" CZ, I love how quiet they are with standard velocity ammo.
