Yeah, we only a little bit of wind, even though we were under a tornado warning. So sad though for the ones affected...

    My Deer Horns can’t get a break…

First my dogs got ahold of them and I couldn’t locate them for a day. ( I think they got buried) But I found them the next day.

Last night a Bear tore them off the wall of my car port where I had mounted them for safe keeping…

The Highway Thru Hell in BC is open to commercial trucks only / essential vehicles as of yesterday.
Some of you may have heard of the devastating flooding in Nov here. Took out entire mountain highways , bridges, etc due to massive torrential rain / landslides / debris flows.

the Highway Thru Hell has been worked on 24/7 since Nov 16, hundreds of millions of dollars spent replacing the highway, bridges, overpasses etc . The sheer amount of equipment and manpower used was incredible.

Friggin Amazon.. Sent me a used rotary tool when I ordered new. Obvious signs of use.. They're replacing it but still. Not the first time it's happened either.

My neighbor asked me to help butcher/ clean up his bear from today.

#1. The bear had 2-3 inches of fat across it back.

#2. I got to keep the claws, hide and skull for projects :)

I’m thinking of having the “Bears” in our Cub Scout troop make Bear Claw necklaces now :)

Freaking thieves! They cut the master lock off of my shop, cut the cable off of my bicycle under my pole barn and jacked up one of my cars to try to steal the cat. I think they were using my tools, a wrench was still hanging from what I think is actually a resonator and not a cat.

I actually typed that last night but never hit post. They were back this morning some time between about 3 and 8. Everything was fine when I checked the property around 0230. At 0800 when I went back they weren't able to cut the new lock, so they peeled the paneling off of the door.

Yes it was a Black Bear.

I am sure the neighbor is going to cook it on up after Christmas.

The neighbor has learned I’m handy with a scalpel and knife so he has started asking me to help him cut up anything he gets hunting.

Not a bad deal for animal parts I can use and he would throw away :) The horns, teeth, furs and claws crafts are starting to happen.

    @ASH

You need to get yourself some big dogs! In my experience Cr@ckheads / Cat thief’s tend to be scared of big dogs :)

Seriously check with your local human society and ask about 1 year old plus dogs. They are the hardest for them to get adopted and would be great for a office / shop dog. Let them sleep there at night and bark at anyone who try’s to break in :)

(For clarity: I’m just talking about a dog that sleeps all cozy in a barn/ Office/ business at night but does normal dog stuff the rest of the day. Not a dog to chain up or train to be scary. Big barking dogs tend to be deterrent enough. For example My dogs are some of the gentlest 65+ Pound adopted baby’s around, they sleep on my couches with the cats and kiddos. BUT will Bark and scare away anything that comes near the house. )

Today, I told myself that I should have locked my dog in the shed last night. I also should have slept there last night, but couldn't figure out where to hide my car.

I am expecting them to try to go through the wall next. I should have gotten someone to lock me in there.
