This weekend I went hiking on the Hawks Nest State Park Rail Trail down to the New River Gorge, Ansted, WV.
Trail was just under 5 miles total.

The tents are pretty new. I think they rent for about $85 a night, which seems high, but I guess people want the glamping experience.
"This campsite is equipped with a pre-set sturdy canvas tent on it's own wooden deck platform. The tent is furnished with a queen-size memory foam mattress, side tables, and a propane tent heater. A picnic table, fire pit with a grill, a solar shower, and portable camp loo are also provided, and campers are able to use the park's restroom facilities as well. "

Coal, it's pretty much always coal mines in WV. About the only thing we have here is coal, timber and natural gas.
This area was full of coal mines, saw mills, and was all logged in the early 1900's. About the only way to access these areas was the rail road and to get the coal and timber out. So there are a lot of old rail road grades and logging roads that are now hiking trails.
