Thanks... Above Bass Lake, near Yosemite.. I’ve done that trail 3 years in a row on 4th of July weekend... and it’s still amazing to me.
I purchased a battery for my yj yesterday, and fired it up for the first time in nearly two years. Fired right up.
Replaced my rusted out flow master muffler this weekend with a banks monster exhaust kit hopefully the stainless steel will last longer on these salty mn roads
This was our '83 CJ7 with a survivor paint job... the original 4.2L developed a rod knock...so I swapped in a crate 350 and while I was there I added a Turbo 400 Auto, power steering and brakes to make it more drivable. I still regret getting rid of this one but life changes and it wasn't getting much use and my sons began to need vehicles. This was a good one with many great memories. I replaced the entire interior and changed the original Levi's blue to Spice, added bumpers front and rear and the rear rack as well.
If you’re near Yosemite, you’re not far from me. If you’re ever on the Central Coast, swing by the Rugged Radios HQ. I’ll give you a personal tour of the entire campus
My 2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel , (only 1 of 2 in western Canada) , 5 years ago before the turbo blew out..... (I have a new turbo finally ftom Sasquatch Parts, still need an expensive install kit - it's been parked underground in dry storage - diesel tank is full to point of overflowing, treated with diesel fuel storage treatment, and fired up weekly for the last 5 years to keep the tranny / engine seals lubricated)
oh go pound a Fosters or three trust me I'd LOVE to own a diesel hilux or similar Toyota 4x4, but they are rare here and the owners want like $80,000 to $150,000 CAD for a severely rusted out , worn out one I can buy a built up Jeep YJ for about $3500 to $7500 .......
That's why we call em HEEP's actually I'm eyeing one right now (I need a 6th truck like I need a hole in my head but the price is right) Jeep Wrangler YJ, brand new winch, buncha engine work done. Dude wants $3500 CAD
I would spend that cash on the one you have there needing work mate. You have invested in a new turbo for it that needs fitting. I would get that one up and running long before I bought another. At lest you can then enjoy it and not have it as a weight around your neck.
