....some of my eBay suggestions have been interesting since buying from his store there I can tell you...LOL Made another one the same size as above and mailed it off to my best mate. Have the making of a couple more yet.
Finally made the ESEE Fire Steel holder I have been thinking of. My leather skills are a little rough but the idea is there Can be worn on the belt and used to protect your hand when making a bow drill fire. Im not sure if I have a ferorod toggle around the house. (75% sure I do) but if I find one I think I’ll add it as part of the “closure” to keep the firesteel in.
So this is a project I will be working on for the next whole bunch of days. She will have Fender Pure Vintage 63 pickups and DR Black Beauties strings. Alder body.
I made a zippo shine again lol. Not sure what it went though, but I got it cheap on ebay. The innards don't work but that'll be my next fix for it.
@Drew RedBear from what material is the engraved part made? The engraving looks deeper after you've cleaned it up. Very nice!
A huge mess! I had to slender down the scales on this moonshiner. Even with big hands it was too big. It's not perty by all means but it feels a heck of a lot better. I just need to figure out how to remove a little of the under belly. Then learned how to make what they call the little fat man with paracord. It only took 30 minutia to get the diamond knot figured out lol. Then I made the pommel on the prodigy a little more pointy. Needs a touch up but it looks pretty cool.
made a small skillet out of a 3/4" thick piece roughly 2x2" square -- ended up with a 4"x4.5"x 1/4=3/8" deep pan and a 1/2x 3/16x1.5" stub for the handle to attach to. also started a carving adze out of a small ball pein hammer head, but ran out of propane & daylight before I finished up the hatchet face and eye.
Slots in the stock esee 4 sheath. Still needs refinement and a lot of hand filing, but getting there.
I did not actually make this today but I did use it. I see there is a Revolver discussion and Hill People Gear. I thought I would share this. I was looking for a way to carry a leather holster on a larger waist belt and pack belt that had MOLLE when my regular belt was covered. It is an adapter for a Leather holster to MOLLE using a Matchpoint USA Accessory Mounting Plate and two Blade Tech MOLLE LOK Mounts. The belt loops are trimmed, and a little bit for the holster to fit in as well. The material is pliable and plenty strong, will not crack. Not real pretty but functional.
The blade was made by @erik and one of the many things he sent me after I got back here. Anyway, I decided to make some scales for it finally. Using the stock scales and hardware from an ESEE 4, I cut, trimmed and sanded till they fit. Not too bad I don't think, but I still have a few tweaks on them and work on the edge.
Thanks. I'm thinking of getting into making scales, cause I need a hobby cheaper than modding knives themselves lol, so this is kind of a testing for me. It wasn't hard, but it took a little while.
Flattened the cube above out and made a 4.5" skillet out of it. (pictured next to a 6.5" long piece of 3/4 stock which is what I started with) also made a set of 24 tent stakes for a buddy out of 18" long 1/2" square stock -- drew the points out enough i ended up 18.5" OAL
