https://www.facebook.com/100001430205518/posts/4389925881065042/ A policewoman from McKinney. Texas set a new cold bore record. She got all three rounds on target at 1.4 miles. I suspect voodoo.
That’s a common score on most of the forums. I also have some “huntin” buddies who have killed deer out past a mile holding the reticle dead on and no turret adjustment due to the flat shootedness of their favorite caliber. Although they were always alone and the story often changes the more they tell it! Anything legitimately hit at over a mile is fine shooting.
I am happy of I can hit a large metal plate at 1000 yards! And that is after walking them in at shorter distances. Of course I can’t hear it hit anymore so my son just tells me I hit it…so I’ll be happy and buy supper on the way home. Of course after reading on the internet I found out I am the only person on the planet that can’t shoot 1” groups at 1000 yards.
Once you get past 1200, targets get much harder to hit. For me, wind gets very hard to read on most days even past 700-800 yds. A trained spotter makes it somewhat easier. A 140 grain .264 bullet drops 339” at 1k with a velocity of 2661. That’s over 28’ in vertical height. Gravity is easy. Wind is the killer.
