Like Drew said it is possible but got to get it pretty hot. I’ve never tried sanders on a knife so I’m definitely not any kind of an expert on how easy or hard it is to get that kind of heat. Diamond and Arkansas stones are all I’ve got. I haven’t gotten to play with the new angle much so not sure how well it will hold up to use. I plan to use it this weekend as much as I can and see how the edge holds up.
Belt sanders can and will screw up the heat treatment. You can use them, but you need to make damn sure you don't let the blade heat up.
I used the work sharp precision on my 3 and brought it down to 15 degrees. Used diamond stones. I've yet to have any issues with it at all. I even smashed it through a fatwood log with no issues at all. Still screaming sharp.
So far so good. Used the low angle edge Izzy all weekend on pet screen to cover a couple planter boxes, clamshell packs, and around the garden. So far the edge is good. Still shaves.
Awesome!! Personally I like my smaller blades with a thinner edge. My esee 3 is my edc blade and most of the time it's just used for simple every day ****. So the thinner edge just works better. Even on some food prep. I prefer it. I bought my daughter an izula 2 and after using that a few times I have to get one for myself now. Great blades!!
Anyone using one of the molle backers for the factory sheath? Just wondering how/if you’re liking it?
Trying something a little different. I've done the texture on the spine but never the whole blade. Thoughts?
