I'm looking for a compass for general woods use. Hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing etc. I don't need something for actual land navigation, just a well made, reliable compass to give me a direction when I'm in the woods and can't see the sun or landmarks.
I've heard good things about the suunto brand. Any reason the a30 wouldn't fit the bill? I can pick one up for the same price and have in time for the weekend.
I have an A10. I haven't used it much, but it has always been accurate. I got it as a backup for my Garmin, after once it had a software bug and the compass got stuck.
I ended up with an a30. Price was the same as the a10 but the luminescent feature seemed like a good option.
Good deal. I would also recommend the A10 for anyone who needs a cheap reliable compass. But if you were able to get the A30 for same price, I don't see any reason not to.
