Sedona hike. Got a fair amount of rain, but was still good to get out. 5878B898-0241-4A66-A058-9F87591C1937.jpeg B24F459B-0777-4422-AB81-4F5DC504B874.jpeg 271F183D-A9FA-41C9-BC0C-35DC4C320CB2.jpeg F5A05525-2750-4930-A47B-B5009D9400E3.jpeg 75373E3A-6F0C-478B-BFD2-F8ECB776C5A4.jpeg A2137564-430A-412E-A9C5-CBBC254FE727.jpeg

yep used to work in an ER and heard that to many times. It was always the last cut of the day when everyone was thinking about the after work beer.

Hope your friends okay and no lasting damage.

No doubt. When I worked in a metal fab shop there were certain machines I wouldn’t use the last hour of the day. 10 hrs in 100+ degree heat have a way of wearing on ya. Always figured I could do it fresh in the morning. Rough stuff that....

It had rained recently here in the desert, so I went to see if I could find some remnants of that precipitation. Generally the desert absorbs it like the thirsty creature that it is, but if you know where to look, and with more than a bit of luck, you can often find something. Did some crossbow shooting today. My friend made the most awesome shot ever - distance is 30 meters.
Had some coffee, awesome time. I got him into the ESEE thing, he is waiting on a 6 with the 3D scales and I am waiting ot a 4HM.

As the Disk World Novels say - the one in a million chances are the ones most likely to happen. However in this particular case I doubt it :D I have done it a few times, but nowhere near as perfect as this one.

Nice to see you too, mate!

went hunting with a friend and his two sons yesterday . Lower elevation than our normal spot so much different terrain.

The deep areas were like that scene in Jurassic Park where they are running through the grass with the raptors.

Deer were smart and learned to stay low but both my son and friend got one today so coolers were full so we were all happy.

Was supposed to meet some buddies over in Craig County but we missed each other somehow. Wound up walking out to the overlook at White Rocks with the girls then heading to Roanoke for milkshakes and chili dogs.

Overnight backpacking trip. Tested out my Zpacks Altaplex (tent I bought for a thru hike that didn’t happen). Thinking this may be the best ultralight tent for tall people ever created. Good trip. Those were prehistoric hippies actually. They ate all organic and made their own clothes. Crazy! :D:rolleyes:

Took a hike scouting some higher areas where we normally hunt beautiful day. Had my bow just in case but didn’t get used. Started here 84A8548D-B171-43E2-A870-6B366EF8B663.jpeg
Big collapsed cinder cone about 300 yards wide and about the same deep. Didn’t want to get to close to the edge.

Hiked up to the top of this cinder cone. About half way there from the start. It’s not far but at over 8000 ft up air gets a little thin.

Hard to see but there’s about 50 goats in this picture. Had some huge Billy’s but was over the fence in Hawaiian Home lands. It’s like tribal lands but not an independent nation
