Yes it’s a TM Hunt Magua, one of my favorites for daily use. A Winkler Woodsman and a couple of HB Forge hawks. “These are a few of my favorite things” (picture Julie Andrew’s)

I’ve ordered the CNC kit these were made from. I didn’t spring for the wood upgrade. FE347BFF-B413-4603-8AD9-3A7E3DD9A7BC.jpeg

That plate on the butt is hinged. What is kept in that?

Sorry that I’m not familiar with revolvers and other antique firearms like this.

Tis a patch box lad. This is actually modeled after a rifle made around Asheville, NC circa 1855. It was converted to percussion later.
Many rifles in the southern mountain regions just had a hole which grease was stuck into for the patches.

I was at Duke McCaa’s place this week (Gulf Breeze Firearms) and he was showing me a pre War Model 70. That was redone with an acid burn stock very similar to your flintlock. It was amazing.

I’ve heard of people doing it but never seen one.
I am currently doing a kit for a friend as practice it is walnut. I reshaped the cheek piece with a chisel

Are we talking The Last of the Mohicans? That was a good movie! Also recently watched Charlton Heston and Brian Keith in Mountain Men, and Robert Redford in Jeremiah Johnson, giving me the bug to get a flintlock. That's one fine looking rifle you posted.
