I keep an LMF as my “truck knife”. It’s a pretty sturdy tool.

2-5/8" of very hard S35VN EDC. Larrin says S35VN toughness is maximized with 400F temper, so giving that a go in this piece:

My edc and my nemesis. I gave him a Bug Be Gone shower last night so he shrank a little from his full size.

Yeah two are esee but it's a group photo. Picked up the prodigy at Walmart today and found the Gerber haul today (beat up tan and black folder) in the parking lot after I got out. IMG_20210208_161754771.jpg IMG_20210208_164243573_HDR.jpg

Ordered an Architect sheath, large pouch and MOLLE backer for my RAT-7. I opted for colors that went with the new scales I put on it earlier.

Thanks! I really like those scales. The OE micarta hot spotted badly when chopping or batoning. With these, there are zero issues processing down a stack of wood or chopping through a 3" piece of maple.

Honestly I didn't even intend to keep this knife. I traded into it as a stripped user and just started playing around with it.

I agree, tkc scales really make a difference. I think the stock on the rat 7 are even more blocky than esee, but I've never held one. How did the edge and edge retention hold up on the 7? A friend is looking for a cheaper large blade but she's on a budget.

Edge retention seems to be good. It was stripped and wasn't very sharp when I got it. I hit it with a coarse stone to bring it back and then stropped it. It's been good so far!
