So, I usually remove the short paracord & lanyard that comes on the ESEE sheath.

    How do you use yours?

    Thanks,

carried my 3 in a pocket for years now, and used it as a tether to a belt loop until i lost the cord lock or something.

My Izulas are usually strapped to a molle panel of some kind (makes it easier to swap and go for edc bags), which tends to make the sheaths a bit tight. I add an oversized antler button, and the lanyard becomes sort of a quick draw handle.

I use one to secure an esee fire steel and part of a hacksaw blade to the esee pouch on the 5 sheath. It’s not ideal but I have yet to come up with a different attachment method. I’ll also use one for securing the esee 6 to the side webbing on my pack. With the belt clip it is secure enough for a day hike or a day of hunting. This is a quick way to attach it without using all the lashing holes on the sheath.
