The baby chicks came in yesterday, I lost 2 over night. They are supposed to be guaranteed live for 48 hours after delivery so I may call and see what they offer. I decided that the old tiller is going to take more time to fix than I want to spend on it right now, so I got my old garden tractor fired up. I have a single plow for it so I will just use that to make some rows.

That pepper threw me for a second, I thought you were going to have a salad and a slug.

That's not a pepper or slug, that's an Ichibon eggplant. Great in stir fry ;)

Spent today planting marigold seeds in the garden to ward off the nematodes and weeding between the planting beds.

We have decided it is time to buy a Small Farm/ Homestead. Elbow deep in offers and planning. Hope to be on a piece of property by the fall :)

Looks like our plans for a larger and flatter homestead / mini farm officially fell through.
Now it looks like we are swapping to a more woodland based / terraced farming approach.
Looks like we will be able to have a medium sized garden,Honey Bees and now we can have chickens!
PLUS it should only take 1/10 the amount of work to set up and get started that our original option would have :)
