Harvested my first four grouse last weekend. Bought a nice fan tail mount. Can wait to get it all mounted up
Wife and I woke up to gunshots this morning. Police put down a deer that was hit and ended up in our front yard. The city let me keep it. Super grateful for the experience as this is the first time I've ever processed an animal.
Bagged 2 more grouse last Thursday. Tried for more on Saturday but it was the opening day for big game rifle here and it was a madhouse. The plaque for the tail fan came yesterday so I got that hung up finally.
I helped with processing a sheep yesterday. Used my trusty 3 to get the work done. It cut out the tenderloin and back straps like a champion!
Some bastard I know just sent me these pics....honestly I think he bought the fish at shop on the way.....
Went to Lake Henry in early December and caught my first cutthroat and brook trout. Cooked the brook trout Japanese style with a thin miso sauce, rice and seaweed chips. Caught a bunch of deep water perch two weekends ago. Came home with 15 fish. Perch eyes and meal worms were the hot ticket on jigs and small spoons.
Did some ice fishing last weekend. Caught a few crappie, bunch of small gills, a channel cat, and my buddy caught a nice 5+/- lbs bass.
