I did not. Probably should have....I had one fall apart on me last weekend after a couple fish. Does lead work for that or do I need to pick up a spool of copper?

You can use really light copper, gold, silver or whatever you want. Tie it in just after you tie in your marabou tail. Then after you have wrapped your hackle wrap it forward the opposite direction. Tie it off with your head wrap. It will lock in your chenille and hackle. Your Bugger will last Much longer

I'll definitely try this out on the next one. Was planning a bass pro run tomorrow so I'll pick up some super light gauge wire to hopefully get a couple more fish out of my hackle.

Tried swing for the fence with a near nuff crayfish pattern this morning. It....did not go well. My soft hen Cape makes decent claws but the hackle came out really rough. Going to try it again later with saddle hackle that I use for the buggers.

Oh I'll be fishing it. Just going to save it for dark and muddy water.

First shot at a leech pattern. The hardest part for me on this one was the dubbing loop to get that collar wrapped. Also thinking about starting a dedicated fly tying thread so I stop clogging this one up lol.

That looks good, remember with bass you can tie those 6-8” or bigger. I recommend a stinger hook if you do go big

Yeah I'm definitely going to try out a larger version of this one for the DesPlaines river. Adding a stinger hook will be a whole new process for me lol.

I'm probably the only person who would pay to fish these flies. :D

Loading up the smallie box. The poppers aren't mine, obviously lol. Those are from a shop called Ascent fly fishing. Hands down my most productive popper to date.

Orange bass bunny bug. This one is a smaller size 6 hook, but I'm going to try to tie it again in a larger size.

My good buddy out-fished me over the weekend tossing wacky rigged senkos. I couldn't pay for a bite and tossed pretty much everything I had available from clousers, buggers, rabbit strip bugs and leeches, even poppers and sliders. Hoping that monstrosity above will be my saving next time the worm bite is on.

I just took the leap from spinners into Fly Fishing.... ordered everything this weekend (except waders & boots). It's more in depth than I thought... We'll see how it goes.... Only real problem is I'm 3-5hrs from any decent streams.

Practice that cast and cut your teeth hitting the local retention ponds if you have any. What kind of home waters are available to you?
